Found it!
From our field training session on Monday, Jam is shown above pointing a quail. We love seeing her work the fields and she is gaining more confidence each week, ranging out more and showing a lot of style. Her pointing is solid and we are working on her holding it while the bird is being flushed. She did have excellent finds and even found and pointed a quail that we did not plant. We didn't get to Jam in time before she went in on the bird but did show us that she is a natural retriever and retrieved the live bird to hand! Good girl Jam!

Back to bird work!
On point and picking up that bird scent from a nice distance
Jam and puppy Trudy, getting ready to do some field work
***
Now that summer is officially here, we look forward to regular training sessions to get Jam ready for the fall hunts tests to run in Junior Hunter. As always, we "train up", meaning that everything we do helps train for the next level, which would be Senior Hunter and gives us a solid foundation and a head start on the skills necessary to complete that title.
