The Rock Wall Classic

Jam, showed like a seasoned show dog at her first shows of 2009 and went Reserve Winners two of the three days, from the Puppy 6-9 month class. Here Jam is being examined by the judge and held her stack.
What a good girl!

Getting ready to run around the ring...
and off she goes!
We were extremely proud of how well this young bitch showed, especially as this was only her second show experience and Jam had not been in a ring since mid-December.

A hunting we will go...

The weather gods cooperated and we were blessed with another terrific day to go field training this week.
Jam is really using her nose and pointing the birds from 10 -15 feet away.
This is intensity!

Someone LOVES Birds

With a mid winter thaw, we were back in the field, training Jam for the Spring hunt tests.
Jam was quite enthusiastic to be out on birds.
Mike, our trainer, is teaching Jam to be steady on point until the bird is flushed.Check out the feathers in Jam mouth!
She has a smile on her face
Good nose, pointing the bird from quite a distance.
Jam was allowed to chase after the bird to build up her drive and get revved up for the next one. This girl is showing lots of natural ability in the field.

The Purple Octopus

Jam has a favorite new toy!
I just knew that she would love this adorable, purple octopus when I spotted it at Petco.
This Tuffy toy, is not only cute, but it passes the Weim chew test and is virtually indestructable for my Weims who have been labeled as having "jaws of life!"
Just the right size and shape to wrap those paws around for the perfect nooking position.

Playful Puppy

Trixie won this combo rope-squeaky toy at an agility trial last fall and it soon became one of Jam's favorites.
Little by little, she has started to destroy and unstuff the fabric squeaky balls and chew the rope.
Jam does not care that the toy is not so pretty and doesn't realize that soon, it will disappear into the circular file forever...
Very important to find just the right position for nooking on the toy...
Maybe this is better with paws to hold it in place...
Happy toy smile!
Who knew it could also function as a pillow!

Is it Spring yet?

Jam loved being able to run around today enjoying the warm weather.
After a Weim playdate that included a two-mile run at the reservoir, Jam still had plenty of energy left to play with Wotan in the backyard.
Jam beat Wotan to the Kong (in the snow) and is waiting for him to notice that she may have found it...
Tag your it!
and the ears are a flying!
