Toy thief on the run

Stolen, a little toy lamb from the puppy's toy bin...spotted, the toy thief in halls on the run...
No way to escape... uh oh...
Pleading the 5th
Innocent until proven guilty
Toy? What toy?

It's Jam time

According to Jam, the world does not revolve around puppies, even though it seems that way, and she loved the chance to run on one of our favorite trails at Harriman State Park. As soon as she saw me grab my hiking shoes, she was jumping for joy and ran to the door. We had limited time and I ran out without the camera so snapped these shots with my Palm Pre.
It is definitely a challenge to balance the needs of a very active, young Weim and care for a litter of pups. Jam needs both mental stimulation and vigorous physical exercise.
Not only did Jam explore the trail but we worked on her recall and a bit of off lead heeling. Every monent together is an opportunity for training. It is also good for Jam to get away from the other dogs and have alone time to bond with me. A special time for both of us.

Fighting Boredom

Poor Jam has felt very left out since we have been so absorbed with the new litter of puppies. She felt much better when I gave her this very special bone from Paws Up on Health. It kept her busy for a long time. In the afternoon, I was able to steal away and took Jam and Wotan on a 3 mile walk, which made all of us feel just great.

Thanks Kids!

Everyone loves news toys, especially Jam. It was very thoughtful of the students at ECLC, where Jam goes as part of Kathy Santo's PAWS Four Autism therapy dog program, to give all the dogs holiday presents. After a short game of fetch and some tugging, Jam settled down to nook on her new rope toy.

Around the Hounds

Jam modeling her new collars from Around the Hounds, one of our favorite collar makers. They have awesome designs, superb quality and look great on the dogs. This is a martingale style collar for everyday wear in the Mesmerize pattern in fuschia/turquoise.
Jam's new metal buckle collar, in Batik grape, will be her official agility collar. Trixie also has an Around the Hounds collar for agility with fuschia polka dots on black that we purchased years ago and still looks great. And if you noticed that vertical line and wondered what it was...drool, a side effect of Jam posing for treats!

Frigid temps...no problem!

Baby it's cold outside but not for Jam, who made it quite clear that she needed a good run. I bundled myself up, think a pseudo chic Michelin woman in black ski clothes, and off we went to one of our local hiking areas for a good run.
