Jam in Vogue

Jam appeared in this March 2010 fashion editorial spread for Vogue magazine.

"Urban Minimalism today is a simple composition of sharp angles and flat planes - with a few interesting new wrinkles (even ruffles) worked in.  Photographed by Steven Klein." Vogue, p.411, March 2010.

Jam may be considered a suburban dog but fit right into this high-end fashion shoot where the model's designer bodysuit retails for $1,845.  Good thing she was on her best behavior and didn't jump up and put paw prints on the clothes.

Agility Class: Working on Advance Skills and Fixing things!

Jam is in an Intermediate level agility class.  In today's class, we ran an Excellent level course that the instructor reconstructed from last weekend's agility trial.  Although Jam and the other dogs in the class compete at the novice level, we always train up and improve by being challenged.  Check out the opening jump sequence with an immediate front cross and tunnel/Aframe discrimination.with a tricky weave pole entrance.  At the far end of the room is a threadle or serpentine sequence that we ran twice in the course, going over 3 jumps the first pass and all 4 the second time. Jam ran the course well but is still having teeter issues that we're working on.  Most importantly, we both have fun playing this game called agility!

Jam on the Westminster Kennel Club Website!

We were pleasantly surprised to see that pictures of Jam from the 2009 Westminster Kennel Club Hunt Test are posted on their website.  Jam earned her first Junior Hunter leg at this hunt test.  We have high hopes that Savi will do the same when we run her this coming weekend at the WKC test.

Elle Magazine Shoot

Jam's calendar was open when we received a last minute call to go into New York City for a fashion shoot for Elle Magazine.  The shoot focused on accessories and the models had the most fabulous shoes, jewelry and handbags.  Jam was no slouch in the gorgeous Bottega Veneta collar and leash set that the stylist had her wear.  We took a quick shot of Jam with her model friend, Amy, between wardrobe changes.  Too bad that the lighting made Jam's eyes look zombie-like.  The spread may be in the December 2010 issue and we can't wait to see the final product.

Jam has graced the pages of Vogue and Vanity Fair as well as modeled for Ralph Lauren so this high fashion shoot was right up her alley...who knows what's next, maybe Harpers Bazaar or Gucci?

Senior training with a friend

Jam had a decent day in the field, although she's still not ready to enter in Senior but that's why we train, to correct the mistakes and reinforce and reward good behavior.  She's hunting beautifully, honoring the other dog but is not totally steady on her point, breaking before the shot.  Below, retrieving a chukkar.
Breeze and Jam, training for Senior hunter.  Always nice to see another talented Weim run in the field and it was fun working with Breeze's owner.
Jam having a ball running in the field after we let her and Breeze break away.

Future face of Frontline

Trixie & Jam relaxing in the lounge at the studio before their call time

We were very excited to find out that Jam and Trixie, as the back up, were hired for a photo shoot for Frontline.  This is a product we use and recommend and it's exciting that Jam may be on some of the new packaging and advertisements to be launched next year. Jam did an awesome job during the two day shoot, one day on location at an incredible farm upstate New York and today, at a studio in NYC.  The girls are quite flexible at adapting to different locations and can relax and enjoy themselves wherever I take them.

One more point for Jam!

Jam went Winner's Bitch today at the Schooley's Mountain Kennel Club show for her 9th point towards her AKC Championship title.  I guess two weeks of vacation on the Cape was the perfect R&R for Jam, as she showed beautifully and had fun in the ring.  I hope that our professional picture turns out nice as they were using the podium with a nice background.for the win photos.  Now, we need to win two majors and she'll be a champion...

Caught with her panties showing!

Oh, the misery of it all...trying to nap during vacation and you insist on using that darn camera...
